Influence of Phonological Errors in English Academic Discourse of Cebuano-Visayan Learners

Oral communication always demands clarity in producing a language such as English order to minimize or avoid failure. However, the context of using medium among speakers who consider it their second language, regardless acquired proficiency, they still commit phonological errors, either intended otherwise. Ironically, commission errors expected phonology consequently facilitated process instead constraining contended. Thus, is interesting know what are these committed by learners and how influenced academic discourse native Cebuano-Visayans learners. Through qualitative single-case study, data were gathered analyzed following thematic analytical framework Miles Huberman. Findings reveal that fall generally within segmental suprasegmental areas along with specific identified phonemes elements. Moreover, associated alignment proficiency disparity its factors assessment for improvement. Therefore, concluded orally communicate, intentionally not, exchange concepts begin share an abstract concept meanings produced error.
